NEW TO ME: MAKEUP GEEK

Beautybay.com were having an amazing sale on Makeup Geek products for half price and I just had to get my hands on some of their products. I had far too much in basket but most of them ended up being sold out anyway so I only managed to get fourteen items.

I was already planning on doing a huge haul on Makeup Geek products and I had a list of Jaclyn Hill's favourite single eyeshadows from makeup geek listed in my notebook, unfortunately, I only managed to get around 4 from the list but for now, I feel like I have a bit of everything from their shade range.

PRODUCTS/REVIEW:
I ended up getting only 4 pressed eye shadow pans in the shade Mirage, Latte, Cocoa Bear and Brownie Points.

I did manage to get my hands on more of their foiled eyeshadows. These were the last shades left so I got them all. I have the shade Jester, In the Spotlight, High Wire, Pegasus, Mesmerized, and Houdini. I'm so in love the shade Jester- it's such a stunner. They are all really pigmented and they glide on super smoothly.

I also picked up two contour shades, Half Hearted which is a warm medium shade and would suit my skin tone more and Scandal which is a cool deep. It just depends on how sculpt I want my cheeks to look.

The last two products I got were the Full Spectrum eye liner pencil in Nude and Ocean. I honestly haven't heard much about their liners but I was in need of a nude liner and thought why not and the ocean shade just looked lush. The formula is really nice, it glides on and has a soft tip so it isn't harsh on your eyes. I love both shades and I think Ocean is perfect for the summer and just adding a pop of colour on your lower lash line.

VERDICT:
These swatch really nicely, they're very soft and creamy to the touch. The pigmentation on these eyeshadows and contour shades are amazing! I am so impressed with these and I can't to use these. I am definitely going to be growing my makeup geek collection and can't wait to get my hands on Jaclyn Hill's favourite shades.

SLEEK MATTE ME LIP CREAMS

I've wanted to try the Matte Me's after seeing Instagram pictures of their swatches. So I decided to play it safe and get nude/pink shades that I know I will wear all the time. I got my hands on 3 shades but I know there was one more nudey pinks that I didn't want because I knew it would wash me out.

PACKAGING:
To begin with, the sleek packaging is pretty basic but still very fashionable. It's not over the top but still looks nice and classy. The product has a clear square packaging where we are able to see the colour of the product and it has a black matte lid. It has a doe foot applicator which is pretty standard but it works especially getting the tip to outline your cupid's bow. I found that Birthday suit has a different short of applicator where you just have flat edges on both sides with no arch. I'm not sure if that was intended but either way it still applies nicely.

PRODUCT:
I purchased three of them and the first and the nudest is called Birthday Suit. This is a light nude brown shade that works as an everyday shade. Next, we have a berry pink called Shabby Chic. Lastly, we have a mauve toned pink called Bittersweet. Here are the swatches.
(left to right: Birthday Suit, Bittersweet and Shabby Chic)

VERDICT:
When you want to wear these lip creams I would advise that you put Vaseline or some kind of lip balm on beforehand and then wipe off the excess before applying the lip cream, just so that it isn't super drying on your lips which in turn, makes the skin on your lips flake. The shades are really pretty and if you hate the formula, you can always just add a gloss over it and the shades would still look really nice. Lastly, for the longevity, I would say that it is pretty decent, for only £4.99, I've had mine last a good four hours and it will just leave a nice stain on your lips overtime. These are definitely worth it and I would highly recommend these.

LIPS:
So one of the most loved chic lipsticks that looks so aesthetically pleasing is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine. I've had my eyes on the YSL lipsticks for a long while and had already swatched a bunch in store so I knew which I wanted. I went for shade No. 9. I also got a shade No. 9 in the Rouge Pur Coutour. Another lipstick product I got was the Nars Audacious lipstick in Anita. This is super creamy on the lips.

FACE:
I purchased two popular concealers. The first is Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer in shade Light Neutral and I got the Nars Creamy concealer in Vanilla. I've heard so much about these products on social medias that I thought it was a must have purchase.

The last product I purchased was another talked about product from YouTube and this is the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. I honestly can't wait to try these products out and see if they are really worth the hype. Check out my youtube videos:
