L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt

Welcome back to my blog and today I wanted to review this new L'Oreal Paris mascara called False Lash Sculpt. I believe this launched at the end of December/beginning of January in the UK. I purchased mine at it's introductory price of £6.99. It retails at £9.99.

PACKAGE:

I actually like the packaging on this mascara and I've noticed that L'Oreal (for the most part) have the same outer packaging but just change the colour and text and honestly, I think that in terms of marketing, that's pretty on point. It's easy for brands to have different packaging for their products but for L'Oreal to stick to one just shows the continuation of understanding that occurs between them and their customers. This particular packaging is a rounded silver tube with a purple/blue top on it. It has a flat edge on one side of the tube where you have the name of the product labelled. It also features a print on the flat side of silver and black lines.

PRODUCT:
The brush on this mascara is really unusual. The bristles appears to only be on one side of the brush which means that less product is being wasted and you are able to apply your mascara easy without the brush head attacking you around your eye area. The brush head has a v shape that holds tiny bristles. It also does a great job of tight lining your eyes which for me and most people is a pain to do so this just makes it much more easier.

VERDICT:
I do like this mascara and it is up these in my top 5 so it does do a good job however if you were looking for a mascara that voluminizes your lashes then I don't think this is the product for you. I find that it does give my lashes a good length before it gets too clumpy and clings onto each other but for the price (even at retail) it is a good everyday mascara.

Thank you for reading and see you next time!

Stila vs. Makeup Revolution Metals Eyeshadows

Welcome back to my blog. So today, I want to start a new series called Beauty Comparison. To start off with, I wanted to mention that sometimes, the comparison will be about the colour or the formula or both. For this particular one I am looking at the foiled eyeshadows that are created by Stila and Makeup Revolution. Unfortunately, the colours I have are not a dupe but I did want to talk about the formulation and price. I will also have swatches.

PRICE:
The Makeup Revolution Metals eyeshadows cost £5 each whereas the Stila Metals eyeshadows cost around  £24 each. I will continue to review the product before giving a final verdict on whether less is more (in terms of price).

PACKAGING:

The Stila Magnificent Metals eyeshadows is in a single silver eye shadow holder with a clear center circle with Stila written in silver and a visible view of the product. It holds around 0.07 oz so roughly 2 grams. Similarly the Makeup Revolution Awesome Metals Eyeshadows has been placed in plastic black eye shadow holder with the same clear circle to see the product. In terms of packaging, Stila is much more luxurious but for the price is should be expected. Both Metals eyeshadows comes with its own liquid eye primer and a little palette.

PRODUCT:

Each brand have used a different formula to create these pigments. Makeup Revolution have more of a creamy consistency whereas Stila is more of a natural pigment which looks to be crushed together rather than blended. I personally perfect the Makeup revolution one because it is easier to apply plus you don't get any fall out which is what Stila provides because of the texture the product has however in terms of pigment, they both have a lot of it. I did try it with their own liquid eye primer and also without it and honestly, I cannot see any difference between them without it but it could be possible that it makes it last longer. Also just noticed that the swatch with the primer for the makeup revolution one has gone clumpy and has made visible creases.

VERDICT:
Honestly, they are both really nice in terms of shades however I do prefer the formula to the Makeup revolution one but I prefer the Stila eye primer better than the makeup revolution one. Depending on your price point, you really can't go wrong with the Makeup revolution one and honestly, as nice as the Stila one is, I'm not so sure about it being £24 however with brands, comes a good name and stila is a good cosmetic brand.

Makeup Revolution & Swatches

Today is a good day! I have a huge Makeup Revolution haul with swatches and a tutorial too.
FACE:

Ultra Professional Blusher & Highlight Expert: This is kit that includes a 6 pan palette of different blusher shades and another one with highlighter shades. It also give a highlighter brush and a blusher brush. The blusher palette had different shades of pink and as you can see from my swatches, no shade is the same. The highlighting palette is amazing! I am so impressed with the pigmentation for both but those highlighters are gorgeous! Well done MUR! The prices on these palettes are so amazing at only £6 each. You honestly cannot go wrong with these. I would say that the formula for these have a slight buttery texture which makes it glide onto the skin smoother.

Contour Kit (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): This is a nicely sized contour kit that features a bronzer, a highlighter and a shimmery blusher. I think the contour colour is suited to work with a lot of skin tones and when blended right, it would look phenomenal. The highlighter is a strong pearl shade and the pink blusher has a bit of shimmer in it which might not be what some people want but it does look nice on the skin.

Pro Illuminator (Ultra Professional Collection 2016):This is one of the most raved about products from the MUR collection. This has only recently launched and beauty bloggers are loving it and so do I. It is a build able highlighter so you could go for subtlety if you prefer that or you can go all out and whip on a strong highlight.

EYES:

Awesome Metals Foil Finish: I got these in two shade: Pure Platinum and Rose Gold. Each kit comes with its own palette and liquid primer base. When I first swatched these I was so shocked at how buttery and creamy these were. It was so smooth that I honestly don't know why it would need a liquid based primer. (I'll be doing a comparison between these and the Stila ones so watch this space!)

Mono Eyeshadows: I have two normal Mono eyeshadows in the shades 'U Know U Want To' and 'Smooth As' and a baked mono eyeshadow in 'Heavenly'. These are really pigmented eyeshadows and  they only cost around £1-£2 depending on their formula.

Pure Pigments: In the shades, Angelic (baby pink), Indirect (gold), dynamic (bronze). I tried getting a swatch of these but it was a little to hard.

Liquid Liner (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): I liked the way it looked on my eyes. It was a super black liner. I think I will be investing in the full version!

Eye Primer (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): It has the look and texture of a concealer and works well with the MUR eyeshadows.

PALETTES:

Beach &Surf: There are a total of 12 pigmented colours and this particular palettes holds some strong blues. Most of these shades are shimmery with only a few mattes.

Disappear to the Beyond: This is more of an everyday palette with various browns and a bright navy for the perfect smokey eye.

Eyeshadow Palette (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): This palette has 7 everyday shades and 5 bold colours that will help you create different types of looks with a bright pink, navy, emerald green and some purples.

LIPS:

Lipsticks (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): Two shades were included in this collection in Red and Nude. These each cost a pound and are of good quality.

Intense Lip Gloss (Ultra Professional Collection 2016): Two shades in a hot pink and a shimmery nude pink.

Intense Lip Lacquers (Ultra Salvation Lip Collection): I have two shades in this, a maroon red and a purple. These are essentially pigmented lip glosses.

Velvet Lip Lacquers (Ultra Salvation Lip Collection): These are soft mattes that are a mix of being a lipstick and a liquid lipstick. I have a brown nude and a baby pink shade.

Ultra Velour Lip Lacquers (Ultra Salvation Lip Collection): Now theses are definitely liquid lipsticks that once you place the gloss onto your lips, it becomes matte really quickly. I have a purple and a hot pink.

Colour Block: This comes with a lip gloss, a lipstick and a nail polish. I got it in red and pink. I think these are a great gift idea.

BRUSHES:
I got two eye shadow brushes and three face brushes. Using them in my tutorial, I thought they were really great. They did a good job especially the crease brush.

Bollywood Glam featuring Makeup Revolution

Hey, there! Happy New Year to all of you! So to start the new year off, I have created a Bollywood Glam tutorial. This was just a trial for something that I wanted to do at a wedding for the weekend and I ended up doing everything except the Stila glitter on my lid and corners.

I had just recently gotten this free Makeup Revolution palette called Run Boy Run and one of the reasons why I picked this palette up was a rich red eye shadow called Break Out from Society. I ended up using this in my tutorial and I honestly really am impressed with this palette. It was pigmented and lasted all day (from 2pm-11.30pm).

I also used their Salvation Velvet lip lacquer in Keep Trying for you and I absolutely love it. As far as Liquid Lipsticks goes, this one is really good and for the price of only £3, you really can't go wrong with it. I found that as soon as it sets, it doesn't feel tacky on your lips and almost feels as though you have nothing on your lips to begin with however as expected with most liquid lipsticks, it can get a little drying overtime but the first application feels amazing! Highly recommend and I'll already purchased some more shades!

Another Makeup Revolution product I used was the Baked Bronzer. I had initially picked this up thinking it was a highlighter but even though it isn't, it only cost me £3. To be honest, this is a very shimmery bronzer which to me, isn't the best however, I think with this glam tutorial, it worked out alright, I think for everyday, it might a little too much but with a night time makeup look, it would work better.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial and excuse the bad voice over, it's the first time I'm doing a voice over on my channel.

Thank you for watching and see you next time!
